MIAMI, Fla. (TND) — Police said two people were killed, including a security officer and a suspect, in a shooting in Florida early Saturday morning.
The Doral Police Department confirmed an officer -- who shot and killed the suspect -- was among at least six people who were hurt in the shooting.
Police said the officer was in stable condition.
WSVN reported police said the shooting stemmed from a fight at Martini Bar in Doral around 3:30 a.m. The media outlet noted a security guard tried to intervene when a suspect pulled out a gun and fatally shot the guard.
According to WSVN, two Doral officers, who were part of a security detail responded to the scene and shot the suspect.
During a news briefing, Miami-Dade Police Detective Zabaleta said six bystanders were also shot, with two in critical condition and four in stable condition.
WSVN reported Doral Police Chief Lopez said the officer was a four-year veteran.
The owners of Martini Bar later released a statement, which was obtained by The National Desk.
