One of the biggest stories to come out of Sunday was the big brawl in the week 17 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals. The two rivals had an intense game. The Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase got into a huge fight with some Chiefs players including L’Jarius Sneed.

Following the game, the Bengals’ Pro Bowl receiver addressed the media in a locker room interview. The media members asked Chase about the ugly altercation. This is what Chase said:

I don’t know what he was doing. I just get under people’s skin sometimes. M’fer won’t fight me. Alright. Just trash talking. Can’t handle it.

Furthermore, Chase took the credit for the altercation, claiming he started it with the Chiefs defensive unit. Chase was involved in pre-game trash talks ahead of the game and especially took shots at Kansas City’s defensive backs.

Chase continued:

I started it off. Their whole defense was mad at me. It started at the beginning of the game. You've seen it. Everybody's seen it. That's just what I like to do.

After all the trash talks ahead of the game, Chase only caught three passes for 41 yards and couldn’t help his quarterback, Jake Browning, outduel Patrick Mahomes. But Ja’Marr Chase didn’t care about the stats and subtly threw his QB under the bus. Chase claimed he was not an Ironman and couldn’t throw the ball to himself while talking about Cincinnati’s rough loss.

The altercation happened during the second quarter of the game when the Bengals were leading by 3 points. However, they couldn’t hold on to their lead and suffered a 25-17 loss on Sunday.

L’Jarius Sneed calls out Ja’Marr Chase over his trash talks

It was truly an ugly altercation in the Chiefs-Bengals game. Defensive back L’Jarius Sneed covered Ja’Marr Chase for the majority of the game. Following the altercation, he called out the Bengals wideout.

During the locker room interview, Sneed addressed the media and shared his side of the sequences that led to the brawl in the second quarter. He also taunted Chase, who had three receptions in the entire game. This is what he said:

We had some words but you know...check the stats.
Sneed said about Chase

Nonetheless, the Kansas City-based football team secured a much-needed victory and won the AFC West division title for the 8th consecutive time. On the flip side, the Bengals have lost the playoff hopes with their loss on Sunday. Next, they will face the Cleveland Browns in their final game of the 2023 NFL regular season.
