Disney has dropped the magical live-action trailer for Pinocchio today (May 31) and we can’t get enough of it.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the trailer features the talented actor, Tom Hanks, as Geppetto. In the clip, Hanks recites, “Star light, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight.”
The trailer shows various action sequences featuring Hanks and Jiminy Cricket, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Fans only catch a glimpse of Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) when Cynthia Erivo, who plays the fairy, uses her magic to bring the wooden puppet to life. Fans of the original film were excited to see the trailer for the live-action movie.
Fun fact, Pinocchio has always been a favorite character of mine & I always felt a personal connection to it. I've seen pretty much every rendition of the tale.

The trailer dropped with the announcement that Disney+ Day will be back on September 8th. For this year, Disney+ Day leads into the D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, so the streaming service has decided to host special experiences for fans and will premiere new content. This will include the official release of Pinocchio on September 8th exclusively on Disney+.
